Our History
Living Word Lutheran Brethren Fellowship has its roots in the gathering of a handful of people who began meeting in the basement of Kirkwood Bank in Dickinson in the fall of 1998. Within several months, the vision for establishing a new congregation began to gain traction. In March of 1999, they began meeting at St. John’s Episcopal Church, and immediately began the process of calling their first pastor. Pastor Tim and Sharon Voth, and family, began their ministry in Dickinson in September.
Living Word was officially voted in as a member congregation of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren at their annual convention on June 12, 2000.
God blessed the ministry of Living Word. On May 18, 2008, the ground-breaking service was held and construction of a new church facility began. The first worship service was held in the new building in June of 2009.
In April of 2018, Pastor Tim Voth completed his ministry in Dickinson. On August 5, 2018, the congregation voted to call Pastor Scott & Angela Skones to be the next pastor of Living Word Fellowship. Scott and his family accepted the call and moved to Dickinson with his first Sunday being October 7, 2018.
Living Word Lutheran Brethren Fellowship is a testament to the faithfulness of God in establishing and growing His church! To God be the glory!
